About

 Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership

Mission: To educate the community in sustainable agricultural practices by growing food year‑round using local geothermal and solar energy.

Vision: To serve as a flagship botanical garden within downtown Pagosa Springs’ Centennial Park—featuring three geothermally heated greenhouse domes (Education, Innovation, Community) along the San Juan River Walk—to promote sustainability, education, and community vitality.


What We Offer

Education Dome: Open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays; hosts workshops and K‑12 school visits on sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. 

Innovation Dome: Aquaponic‑based experimentation to grow fish and plants year‑round. 

Community Garden Dome: Programming for residents to grow and learn together. 

Outdoor Amphitheater & Gardens: Includes seating walls, Xeric Rotary and Native Plant gardens—coordinated with event programming and public access. AVAILABLE TO RENT

Fall

Breakfast with Balloons

Held during ColorFest weekend (mid‑September), enjoy breakfast, mimosas, live music and an up-close balloon launch from the greenhouse site. Hosted by GGP in partnership with the Chamber. 

Spring

Environmental Film Festival

A fundraising film night held each April (Earth Day season), featuring films like Common Ground—plus shorts and local filmmakers—supporting renewable‑ag and education programming. 

Summer

Social Gardening Gatherings

Weekly or monthly informal community gardening sessions held on the greenhouse site or Amphitheater lawn—open to volunteers, neighbors, and garden clubs—to plant, learn, and socialize.
