The Chimney Rock Interpretive Association invites you to a special free lecture with world-renowned archaeoastronomer Dr. J. McKim “Kim” Malville, professor emeritus at the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Malville has spent decades studying sacred sites worldwide and was among the first in centuries to document the Major Lunar Standstill at Chimney Rock.
In this engaging talk, he will explore the connections between astronomy, architecture, and spiritual life at Chimney Rock, including solstice alignments, the 1054 supernova, and the building of Great Houses by Chacoan masons.
This event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated to support CRIA’s ongoing educational programming.
